Marching band should count as pe credit because it takes lots of physical effort to produce shows and perform things like marches.

Marching band is like a sport. We do a season just like track, or soccer, or football. But we put much physical work into our shows with running laps or doing push-ups to give us strength through the hours of work. I hope you all do well

I have band as a pe credit at my school and honestly, we work harder than the football kids and anyone else I know. I’ve even heard them say that we work the hardest so I think we deserve it. Try it for a day or two all you’ll se.e how hardcore it is.

I think it’s ridiculous that this is even a problem. I go to Azle High School, and you get a fine arts credit and 0.5 PE credit. It fairly obvious that this activity is very physically demanding as well as time consuming. It think it’s unfair that they have to give up an elective to take PE or a sport if they’re already in band. Marching Season is debatably harder and more demanding than some sports that you get a credit from.

This has been a struggle for years with band students needing to take a zero period (7am) PE class in order to take band and also fulfill the PE graduation requirement.

Please help im in band and I know all the hard work band puts on for some of you ungreatful people at football game halftime! We prepare for months before we first put on the whole show we walk and run a lot! It's technically a sport! Please help we practice for hours on end 8 hours a day 5 days a week! If you care for music and band please sign this petition! Thank you for your time!
