On February 21, 2017, a student at Bartow High School had discovered the on-demand music streaming service Spotify had been added to the blocklist of websites on the PCSB's iBoss firewall.

As a student of the PCSB, I feel that Spotify access during school hours is not a necessity, nor should it be, as it disrupts my education and wastes class time to have the teacher ask me to put my phone away.

However, after school and during extra-curricular activities can involve the use of Spotify as a tool for entertainment and encouragement (i.e. pump-up & motivational music). Teachers do not have to interrupt valuable education time, nor will the students disrupt their own education with music.

Speaking anonymously for myself, and for the students of the PCSB, we feel that Spotify should be pardoned on our network, and that we can prove the assistance that music gives us in our extra-curricular and academic lives here at school.

The students (and possibly teachers/faculty) who have signed this petition agree to the above statement, and that we kindly ask that the county lifts the banishment from Spotify.
