This is a petition to SUPPORT the redevelopment. The site was bought from the City Mission Church, but the Church and the nursery will be included on the ground and first floors of the new block along with new restaurant/cafe space. This is one of (up to) five new buildings of similar size proposed for Scrubs Lane. New Kensington Gate, right by the Mitre Bridge has already been approved. Sign the petition by all means but it will be more useful to comment directly and individually to the OPDC planning authority who will decide the application. Whether it's 100 or 1000 signatures, petitions may be considered as just a single reply. http://planningregister.opdc.london.gov.uk/swift/apas/run/WPHAPPDETAIL.DisplayUrl?theApnID=17/0091/FUMOPDC&backURL=%3Ca%20href=wphappcriteria.display?paSearchKey=46481%3ESearch%20Criteria%3C/a%3E%20%3E%20%3Ca%20href=%27wphappsearchres.displayResultsURL?ResultID=84024%26StartIndex=1%26SortOrder=APNID%26DispResultsAs=WPHAPPSEARCHRES%26BackURL=%3Ca%20href=wphappcriteria.display?paSearchKey=46481%3ESearch%20Criteria%3C/a%3E%27%3ESearch%20Results%3C/a%3E

The community centre really needs to remain as it offers so much to the community especially for young people who should be nurtured and have somewhere to go and have things to do that are positive and beneficial for their future development. It is also right on the border of Brent where every youth provision has closed down bar Roundwood YC and their summer provision is almost non existent. It is absolutely shocking an absolute disgrace, what are young people supposed to do, especially during the school holidays? The community centre needs to remain because our youth need somewhere to go that is central and easy to get to, there is a well needed and excellent nursery provision and children's playscheme, Saturday school, music tuition and young peoples group. You can't miss it due to its great location. If we care at all about the future adults who may be positive role models needed for our future because they had a positive platform to start from rather than having nowhere to go and nothing to do the community centre needs to remain open. If there is nowhere for young people to go that is when they are likely to possibly then get in to things less positive because there is nowhere for them to go with little guidance or counsel. For these reasons and more the community centre really needs to stay open. I know from experience. Thank you.

Penticostal City Mission Church had always been a hub for the local community on so many fronts, youths clubs, Sunday schools, nursery school, a church and a hub for distribution of food items to the needy within the community. It is vitally important for the community to continue to enjoy these tremendous services . Any redevelopment of the area should at all cost include PCMC Many thanks

Where something good is working it is wrong to threaten it or try to tear it down. There is no need for development for development sake! Who profits here? Not the people who use the services.
