Two Port St. Lucie dogs impounded for barking at neighbor, could be euthanized

All dogs bark that's how it is. This is ridiculous let her have her dogs back!!!!!!!!!!

No dog should be punished for doing his job and protecting his territory. If there is no record of these dogs bitting someone or attacking someone give me a break free those dogs to the owner

they should not be put down because they bark. To much or not . Their dogs and that's what they do .

Neighbor is being a jerk

I am horrified for this family and their dogs. Barking is no reason to euthanize a dog. This is absolutely barbaric.

Shame on you Port Saint Lucie for even considering euthanasia. These dogs are not to blame for doing what comes natural. I have 3 dogs who bark both inside and outside. They are part of our family and our protectors. Their barking alerts us and they keep us safe. Their barking aided police in capturing a burglar who had passed through our yard while running from police. Don't these neighbors have any compassion? This is not the fault of the animals. Perhaps obedience school and not euthanasia. I firmly believe these dogs should be given a chance. My dogs are barking now, I shudder to think that PSL could come to my door based on a neighbors complaint and confiscate my dogs. We have considered moving due to the tax hike. With this latest news I fear for my dogs and will be contacting our realtor ASAP!!!!

This law should be rewritten. A dog protects it's home and family by barking, and this law can kill them for it.

All dogs bark. My dogs bark when they see neighbors, kids, bikes, motorcycles. That's their JOB. They let the owner know someone is here. The neighbor needs to get a life. Go to any store and what do u here. Babies crying, yelling, running around, but to that neighbor I guess that's ok. Give the dogs back to the owner.

I believe if these pups are going to be euthanized for barking and getting out of their yard, then that better be protocol for Everyone's animal that gets out of the yard and is barking. This is Not right!!!

This is so heartless---terrible. to have these dogs taken away for barking, not allowing his owner to even touch them is truly a tragedy. Sounds like that department needs a review by sensible people. Please give those dogs back to the owner now. To prolong this to the end of the month is so very, very heartless. Has sanity left Port Saint Lucy???

It's in a dog's nature to bark, they are protecting their home? If you don't like it so much, then move!!!! These dogs aren't hurting anyone nor are they any sort of threat. Have they ever bitten you? Have they ever put your life in danger? I didn't think so! In case you aren't aware, pets are apart of people's families. So why are you trying to tear someone's family apart? How would you like me to have you arrested just because your garage door-opener is too loud, or your car is too loud, maybe your kids or you yourself are too loud. Grow up and see the bigger picture here. They are living, breathing creatures just like me and you!

I truly find this outrageous! What's next you're going to start taking EVERY DOG in PSL that barks while in THEIR HOME or BACKYARD???? Come to my neighborhood and every other house has a dog/dogs who BARK, its what DOGS DO!

If they would only euthanize criminals and predators who prey on the innocent this easily maybe the world would be a better place. These dogs don't know any different and as long as they lady complies with the proper protocol I see no reason to euthanize these innocent animals.

The whole idea that a dog's bark is dangerous is obscene! This law is based on ignorance. Please do NOT euthanize any dogs for barking. That's what dogs do. It's their way of communicating. And the fact that, in your area, you will euthanize dogs just because someone might be afraid of them is one of the most regressive thought processes I've heard in a very long time. Dogs that do not harm anyone are NOT dangerous!

Princess and Duke didn't do anything to deserve such a fate. This is insane. Please give these dogs back to their owner.

This is atrocious. It is obvious the animals are not going to harm anyone . This law needs to be removed

Kill dogs that bark? Don't these pathetic neighbors have any conscious? That's what dogs do , Bark. Please don't unfairly euthanize these beautiful dogs. That would just be KILLING
