Paypal, remove the offensive "need a new skipper" commercial

It is a nightmare when a parrot manages to escape, because it means almost cetain death for one's loved friend if one can't get him back. Birds are not "throwaways". Please make a diffeent advertisement; that one is cruel. Thanks.

This is wrong. This video is telling people our pets are here objects that can be replaced and they are not. It is also showing that it’s ok to be careless with your pets. Most people know not to keep a parrot next to an open window yet there is always someone who does this. You are now saying it’s ok to be an irresponsible idiot and supporting the idea that it’s ok to be neglectful of our pets. Shame on you.

It's a tasteless concept and does not fit the warm and fuzzy or fun and friendly motif which I'm quite certain PayPal requires for globally effective marketing. I will stick with Visa, thanks. Look to the Telus ads if you want to make a point using animals, dorks.

This has been a very real situation that have left the Bird owners devastated. Take a look at the FB group 911 Parrot Alert. Bird owners there are just heartbroken and Paypal makes light of it....disgusting, absolutely disgusting.

I don't like this commercial. It makes it seem that any parrot is replaceable with any other one. NOT! I'm 72 years old and have had many parrots and they were all different in looks and personality. Whoever came up with this concept should be ashamed. Trivializes parrots as pets. And it's stupid!

As a Doctor of Ecology, I believe this advertisement to be grossly misinformed and careless. Parrots are not domesticated, they are wild creatures requiring specialist care. Since they form pair bonds, often with their owners, it is important for prospective owners to meet them first in order to understand their individual needs. There are also widespread welfare issues with breeding conditions which can lead to behavioural problems and prospective owners should be encouraged to investigate this and not simply buy a pet over the internet.

I don’t know if this commercial was supposed to be funny, but it’s not. There are SO many things wrong with the commercial. The cage is not even livable for a FINCH, much less a Conure. It’s tiny and round. There is only one perch and no toys. It’s stupid to have a window open next to an open bird cage, whether the bird is clipped or not. And those were two different Conure species. Birds DIE every day from getting loose from their homes!!

My senegal, Felix, once flew out my open door. He was gone for several hours. While feeling worried, scared, and heartsick, I typed up and printed out stacksa of flyers, then went door-to-door in my neighborhood, handing out those flyers and talking to my neighbors. I covered the whole neighborhood 2-3 times until I had talked to everyone and everyone had a flyer. Luckily, I got my baby back. He was part of my family and irreplaceable. After he passed, it took almost a year before I could stand to get another bird, even rhough I desperately wanted one. She, too, has taken a place in my heart. Birds and other animals are living, feeling, caring, intelligent individuals who are not interchangeable. Please remove this offensive advertisement. Thank you.

This ad is heart breaking to anyone who owns and loves their birds. I have 5 and if someone lost any of my birds first off I would notice and second off I would be devastated!

This ad is wrong on so many levels! Please remove it immediately.
