This commercial is totally irresponsible and completely insulting to those of us who have parrots and regard them as family members. These intelligent and irreplaceable pets cannot be regarded as "throwaways" and Paypal should be deeply ashamed of themselves for airing something so stupid.

I have 4 Conures. I would never ever be so careless and if one of mine did get out? I would do everything in my power to find him and not just turn around and buy a replacement?!

A bird is a forever companion! Most of which are very intelligent! There are not meant to be replaced like as you portray.

Absolutely disgusting. Are you going to lose someone's golden retriever and replace it with a chihuahua? Or replace it at ALL? And then say everything's fine because you have a credit card? Whoever made this needs to be fired.

Animals, whether pets or not, should not be represented as simply 'replaceable' with a PayPal purchase... Perhaps it's time to replace PayPal with Venmo, Google Wallet, Facebook pay, etc.....

Obviously, you know nothing about parrots. No beloved pet should ever be considered a 'throwaway' and easily replaced. I find this commecial offensive. Remove it and do more research next time.

You really need to re-think this commercial. What you are saying is that parrots are throw away pets. I hope this is just from naievite and not because you planned it that way. There are just as many unwanted birds in rescues - perhaps more than dogs and cats...yet they live nearly as long as a human and have a brain that reasons. This is like (to me and countless others) as if it would be alright with you if you lost a child and then just went to an orphanage and replaced them with any kid you could grab. Just not right!

Shame on PayPal for promoting the idea that birds are throw-away pets that can be replaced on a whim. No amount of money can replace a beloved parrot, or any pet for that matter. I'm glad I broke away from PayPal years ago.

The commercial is disturbing. She could have used PayPal to buy fliers to find the bird, she could have used PayPal to put up an ad. You don’t go out and replace a lost pet as soon as it’s lost. Also, the commercial shows the bird in a round cage, which should not be advertised as good.
