The students need to get their MPs involved. Accountability needs to be established. Will the students be getting refunds? How has the pension scheme been allowed to get into deficit?

I'm in my final year and worried about the effect this will have on my studies, but I entirely blame the people at the top, not the people striking. Stop trying to make more money at the expense of education, this is a university, not a corporate company. SORT IT OUT.

It is horrendous staff are facing such cuts to their pension and it is unfair that students should face the consequences of this by losing out on so much teaching time.

Don't strike on third years without offering the contact and support that you are contractually obliged to provide us when we enter into the 27,000 university contract at the start of our three years.

As a first-year student paying over £9000, I am deeply angered by the financial priorities of this institution lie. I will be fully supporting the lecturers in their strike. However, I expect Nancy Rothwell to seriously evaluate the situation of her university students possibly flunking their degrees, whilst finding it more necessary to be investing £millions in Caterpillar who break international law by demolishing homes in Palestine, as well as financial ties with other companies which make the university complicit in Israel's war crimes.

I support my lecturers in this strike, but am livid that students are rapidly becoming collateral damage in negotiations between lecturers (and other teaching staff) and a university that refuses to pay them the wages and pensions they are due.
I am quite at a loss as to what other priority any self-respecting learning institution could have outside of paying its staff the wages they deserve, that they might continue to teach and share knowledge as they so clearly want to.

As a third year student, you are putting everything I have worked for a stake. 3/4 weeks without support form my lecturers could potentially tank my degree. Negotiate, fix the problem.

It's time to stop this injustice and give students what they pay for. A University that claims to be operating in the best interests of their students and staff have GOT to do better.
