Research shows that cycling saves the Australian economy $221,000,000 per year in reduced healthcare and congestion costs.
This money should be returned to cyclists through a tax rebate every year.
Every Australian who nominates themselves as a cyclist on their tax return should share in the savings they have helped accrue to the community through their positive lifestyle choice.
Cycling offers significant potential to increase physical activity levels in adults. It is already the fourth most popular physical activity for adults, it can be undertaken by a wide variety of ages and fitness levels, it is affordable and can be integrated into people’s daily life and used as a form of transport.

I really never thought this would gain this much steam but here we are and it is honestly wild to see so many people agreeing that we deserve that rebate. It makes total sense when you think about the savings we bring to the healthcare system so keep pushing this out to anyone who owns a bike because we need to keep this energy going.

Too right. Sick of paying rego for a car I barely use just to sit in traffic. Give us a break on the taxes for once.

Lifestyle choices impact on the community. Positive choices, like cycling, should be encouraged. Negative choices discouraged.
