I have been in retail for 28 years. I have worked many holiday and at one time the businesses close on the holiday. Now in today's world the businesses are getting the upper hand on the little guys who don't have a choice on wether they can spend the holidays with their families or risk losing their jobs. Even the most dedicated worker would like to spend time with their families. What I propose is, if big business keeps making the demand on the little guy then Double time pay should be expected. If the business is open on a holiday then it should be a volunteer choice for the worker without the threat of losing their jobs. Businesses should be penalized to the fullest for taking advantage of the workers to get their bottom line. The CEO's and the owners of companies enjoy the holidays why can't we. Every year goes by and we miss out on so much. If you think you would like to sign this petition and you would like me to rewrite the idea then take a minute and think about our lives and how much big business has taken away from each and every one of us at one time or another.
