After years of unfunny "safe" attempts at an Oscar host, dipping into creative wells that either were empty, or not that deep to begin with, we the undersigned wish to petition the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to place the Oscars in the hands of someone that will hold interest and provide actual entertainment. To that end, we wish to endorse Patton Oswalt, and urge the AMPAS to approach him about hosting the 2013 Oscars with free reign to select his own material, in order that the night might actually return to the self-effacing, unpredictable humor that it has been known for in the past.
