Having moved from Cork to the US some 22 yrs ago myself, seeing what Patrick did for his newly adopted home and comrades of the USMC it is only right and proper to name a ship after a man of such honour and distinction. Would make every person here from Ireland and all those of Irish heritage very very proud indeed.

I was born in Ireland, now a U. S citizen. Many fellow Irish served with distinction and sacrificesd for their adoptive country in every U.S war. This would recognize their service.
