This man saved the life of his brothers and did not even get the Medal of Honor. This is the least you could do.

This is the kind of man that they created the word hero for. He deserves an aircraft carrier named after him. The least they can do is give him this one ship

Anybody who would sacrifice him or herself that way deserves to be honored in the absolute highest regards. A simple ribbon and medal and inscription on a tombstone are nowhere near what a hero of that caliber deserves. I bet that every single person whose life was saved that day would agree wholeheartedly 100%.

I feel an LHA or LPD would be more appropriate to honor this brave devildog, but naming ANY ship in his honour would be the very least the Department of the Navy could do to honor his sacrifice and service.

I work with this young man's sister....it would mean so much for the family to have a ship named for this brave man who died in the service of his adopted country.

If Patrick Gallagher, a non-citizen was worthy enough to earn a Navy cross while serving in Vietnam, then he's worthy enough to have a ship named after him. It's also a wonderful way to honor the Irish who are American allies. Patrick Gallagher didn't have to serve, but he did. Thank you Patrick for your service!
