In this day and age we need to remember heroes who fight and die for others. It shows the love this immigrant had for his new country and for his fellow marines. There is no greater love than to give one's life for others.

A true hero and an inspiration for all.
Service in the military is now a route to citizenship. There should be an effort to have Cpl. Gallagher awarded citizenship posthumously. It might aid in this effort.

It was his photo that caught my eye, a very handsome young man the same age as my own son and who lost his life serving another nation. I cannot think of a better way to honour Corporal Patrick"Bob" Gallagher. We are all proud of him for his courage and valour and hope that the US Secretary of State will honour him too on the 50th anniversary of his death.
