Im a Dubliner living in Miami. I am a US Navy Vet (OIF/OEF) and am in the Navy Reserve. I support this petition wholeheartedly. I love hearing about my fellow country men who have been in the US Armed Forces.

The United States fighting men have had many glorious heroes and the men who are awarded the Navy Cross are very special, I know for my husband Captain George C. Watkins, US Naval Aviator was one of those. George would say, "The Crew Chiefs keep our carriers fighting fit". George died ten years ago but I know he would have been be happy to sign this petition. In his name I am honored to do so.

His actions and decorations deserved recognition. Naming a ship after him would be the right thing to do .

A fine example of a true hero who went about his life with dignity and grace not wanting to be in the limelight

A fine name for a U.S. Navy ship -- One of courage and compassion. I am 100% for this honor.

It's time to honor someone besides Presidents or Officers. He is from Ireland and fought for our country.
