Agree, especially #3 with no high density outside the town core.

It is of the utmost importance that "traditional" development modes and practices give way immediately to a sustainable model that perpetuates diversity in our community.

Vashon is a unique King County community. There is a lot to lose here. It is essential that development plans be community sourced here on Vashon. Once lost, there is no getting back the essence of our way of life here. PLEASE HEAR OUR VOICES.

I believe the permitting rules are antiquated and need revision toward density.

We are one of the most wasteful countries on the planet. Polluting and pumping clean drinking water miles up the road is NOT acceptable. Neither are septic systems which use heaps of fuel to remove solids.
The only thing stopping us is ignorance and old habits. Composting toilets win on every front.

It's shameful that Vashon dwellings built with sweat equity as affordable housing are transitioning to the ubiquitous "buy into the dream, the miracle of Vashon Island, the destination place to live" overpriced housing that keeps Vashon on the gentrification fast track. This model is NOT sustainable, and must be replaced. High density and population growth is NOT sustainable. Vashon Island is NOT Mercer Island. I lived on Mercer Island as a child. What it has become is a disgrace. It looks like Anywhereville, USA. Vashon does NOT deserve that shameful treatment.
