We are very grateful to the efforts of the staff and the lecturers/tutors to try and make the distance online learning as convenient as possible for us despite the difficulties and the current situation. However, the distance online learning transition that we are currently undergoing means that for the past almost 4 weeks and the rest of the spring 2020 semester, we were not and will not be on campus and do not have access to its resources and facilities that many of us have grown to rely on. Moreover, the distance online learning isn’t convenient for a very large portion of the students, for multiple reasons, but especially that there are some subjects that are almost impossible to transition to this mode of teaching, hence, not receiving the same quality of education. We are fully aware that this transition was for our benefit and is out of everyone’s hand including the university, nevertheless, this is still a financial burden on students across the university as many jobs across the country have either stopped getting paid or had a salary reduction, so given our current situation and that so many resources and facilities that are embedded in the university fees are not being consumed which also means that it costs way less now to run the university, we kindly request that the University of Wollongong in Dubai reimburse the students with 50% of the tuition fees for the spring 2020 semester.

The emails I receive from you about the financial strain you are facing are heavy to carry but they remind me why this matters. I have been reaching out to the administration behind the scenes and while the silence is frustrating it only confirms that we have to keep pushing forward.

I am talent with a situation that happening now, but if we will be unbiased, online learning is twice cheaper, than face to face. Than why we have to pey two times more than it cost?! Refund of money for a second half of the semester is a right decision!!!
I would suggest that if it’s possible to pay 50% of the fees regarding our courses for this semester (for the students who are still paying by instillments) if it’s not possible then we can at least keep the amount to next semester fees .
These times are hard and i cant seem to focus on uni work due to lack of interaction and my dad is not getting paid well for his work and i also havnt paid a good amount of my fees and if that gets exempted it could really help my dad. Thank you
It’s unfair that we have to pay the full price when we do not even get to use the facility of the campus or the classrooms, not even the laptops or wifi for the online classes... unfair !
About the learning distance I don’t feel like i’m actually focusing or even learning from the online learning but that’s not for all the subjects I literally only understand one subject out of 4 subjects
Please eaither provide summer discount with 50% or return 50% to the bank account. As most of the people lost their jobs,including my parents..I hope you will understand and support students and most families in this hard time

S/N: 6535707 The remote delivery is not the idealistic mode of study I have initially intended on undertaking when I applied and enrolled at UOW the quality of the continuing education, unfortunately does not remain at the same level
