As a retired secretary of the Indiana State Police I strongly believe that when a defendant is given a sentence that he should serve that full sentence. Especially in this case where Mr. Jordan Peters has taken the lives of two young men who are his brothers in arms, fighting for our country. This was a careless act that could have been prevented by Mr. Peters not drinking and driving. I can not support a modification of Mr. Peters sentence. I believe he should be denied an early relrelease and made to serve the full sentence.

The actions of Jordan Peters destroyed the lives of 2 young people, but not only Kale and Pawell, but also their families. I've know the Clay family since Kale was about 4 years old. Kale was a good kid growing up and become a very loving and caring person long before he put on his uniform. Always giving and helping people, that was Kale. Feb 13, 2010, this country not only lost a soldier but a person that loved his country, family and friends. I'm proud to have been one of those friends. The sentence that Peters received is nothing compared to what he has destroyed. He should be happy with only 10 years, 10 years that Kale and Pawell will never have. I believe it would be a disgrace to both Kale and Pawell's memory if Peters is granted parole.

God's judgment will come when it comes. In the meantime, a civil judge, one who has been authorized to do so by election or appointment,sentenced this man to certain amount of time to serve to pay a debt to society. He should serve the full time as sentenced.

It isn't about not forgiving. I can honestly say, I do forgive Peters, and I have told him so. What Kale and Serafin would want is to not be dead.

Who cares if they were friends or strangers?! Who cares what stories are going around the FACTS are Peters killed 2 people and showed no remorse. If he really was a friend he would of never got behind the wheel, "less sober" or not a cab should of been called. If it was your brother the tables would be flipped, however since your friends with Peters your willing to defend his actions. Its a shame that you come on here and say please don't sign the petition and than defend Peters in front of people who are suffering more than you'll ever know because you didn't lose a family member.

That their friend killed ur parents?!?!!?) doesn't feel good, does it!!!!!!!No mater what and who related,,,, if the crime was done it's done and no matter the sin, a sin is a sin!!! right?!??!??!?? First of all. How dare you say that he's served long enough. These are two soldiers dead! Three years for two lives is good enough? Whether Serafin and my brother made a bad decision to get in the car or not, these were two innocent people that suffered the ultimate consequence. Peters will be released someday. My big brother won't be. If you think that Peters deserves to go home early, keep your mouth shut. You do not need to post on here saying that he should be released, as we are trying to keep him in prison to serve his full sentence the way that he should. Especially with my mother having made this petition to begin with. Think about the heart broken people here that need justice. I was 15 years old, just starting to get close to my brother,when he was taken from me. You better believe that I'm mad as hell. I realize that Peters has served honorably as well. But that doesn't make up for what he's done. He needs to sit down and do his time.

Megan, I may not have known Peters, however Kale was my son. I know they all made choices and for Kale and Serafin, they paid the ultimate price for theirs. They put their lives in the hands of a very imparied driver, who did know better. Each soldier receives numerous briefings. Peters, himself told me at his court martial hearing that he held the green DD of Co card to his unit and gave a safety briefing about the importance of calling them and not driving impaired so he clearly knew what he was to do. I know he did not wake up that morning and think, "I'm going to go kill my friends tonight". That doesn't change the outcome. He made decisions and like my son, he has to live with them. One of those is to pay the price given to him by a court martial. I am not asking for more time, but for him to serve the time given. He got a "two for one" special in years sentenced. 10 years for 2 lives. He will end up released early for time served. Since he has been in, he has had 3 clemency hearings, and now a parole. Each anniversary of my son's death, birthday, holidays, hearing dates are knives in my heart, and in the lives of all who loved Kale. He needs to serve the time sentenced. He will get out and have a life after this. My son, and Pawell never will.

I served with all three of them Megan, but I do not agree with you. I believe he should serve the full sentence given to him. He took the lives of two soldiers, two brothers of mine, and he deserves what punishment was given to him. True they were all drunk, and true they could have called a cab just like battalion policy stated, but they didn't. Peters was driving and was full aware enough to make the decision to drive so therefore should be full aware that he deserves his full term of imprisonment. If we wanted to pass judgement ourselves we would have declined to listen to the battalion commanders orders to leave peters be because of how much suffering he was going through as it was for what he had done, we would have done far worse than what the judge sentenced him, but we didn't, we let him be and let the legal system take its course so that he may serve his punishment incarcerated. Letting him out early would only serve to show that the legal system is defective and that the two he killed never received justice. Also about the think twice comment you made, we have been thinking of this for three years it's not something you just forget. Maybe you should think twice.

All you are doing is causing more pain for my family with your inconsiderate comments. How dare you. You say "you don't know how long is enough" yet here you are saying it is enough. What gives you the right. your not here to watch an feel the pain kales death has caused my family! My daughter will NEVER get to meet her uncle! Considering this man for parole is a slap in the face to these families who keep being victimized when not only the anniversary of their family members were killed but also when this clemency hearing is being heard. Please let him serve his sentence.

Even though they were all drunk, Peter made the his own decision to get behind the wheel and drive the car rather than making the smart decision to call a cab. 3 years is not long enough for killing two people. Kale was just like my brother I grew up with him, & I'm not saying they were innocent, however Peters could of been the bigger person and said no to driving while drunk! He deserves to stay behind bars for the full 10 years, 10 years is nothing compared to all the loved ones who have the life time sentences of NEVER seeing Kale or Serafin again.
