We are Year 11 students at FCJ College undertaking a Passion Project for our Religion and Social Justice class. Our project focuses on promoting accessibility and inclusion within our local community.

We are calling you, the people of Benalla, to hold the local council accountable, to increase the number of disabled parking spaces available at the school. In the past, there has been a family with a wheelchair-bound child who faced difficulty accessing the school due to limited accessible parking. We believe no family should have to experience such barriers.

Providing more disabled parking is a simple yet powerful step towards ensuring equal access for all students, parents, and visitors—especially those with mobility challenges. It demonstrates our community’s commitment to compassion, fairness, and inclusivity.
