Toronto licenced contractors should have the right to use on-street permit only parking spots while they are working in the city. Too many streets are permit only parking until 10 or 11am making it impossible for contractors to work or unload materials without incurring a $40 parking ticket. These parking tickets inevitably get billed into the customers project so this problem effects all Torontonians not just the contractors.

Contractors always start work early and most often have nowhere to park the trucks. I propose that if a contractor has an up to date city licence they should be able to purchase a yearly parking pass for all of the workers to park their vehicles on the permit side of the street or in 1 hour and 3 hour only spots for the full work day.

Contractors are a vital part of the cities workforce. We improve the value of houses resulting in a strong housing market and inevitably higher property taxes for the city.
