Drop-Off Parking NEEDED at Lord Lansdowne & Da Vinci

I am writing to you on behalf of myself, my spouse and my children who attend Lord Lansdowne school. As you will be aware, with Lord Lansdowne now a French immersion hub, there are increasing numbers of children coming from different areas of the city meaning the need for a drop off zone is becoming more urgent than ever. As a well-established downtown school, it seems crazy that there is not already an official drop off zone to allow parents, particularly those of younger children, to park for the 10 minutes it takes to walk their child to safety on the school grounds or pick them up at the end of the day. Parents are running a daily gauntlet, risking a parking ticket, simply to drop their child off at school. In fact, just last week, my husband was picking the children up in the car but, due to the fact that he did not want to park illegally, we implemented a two person pick up - I left work to walk to the school just to meet the children coming out of the door and bring them to the car! A two person pick up wasting time simply because there is no legal parking to allow for parents to meet their children in the playground after school. We trust you will be active in advocating that the parking restrictions be changed rapidly so that parents do not have to continue with illegal parking or complicated arrangements simply to get their children too and from school, Yours sincerely, Reaz.
