Final supporters
We, the undersigned business & property owners, managers, employees, and patrons in Downtown Duluth, support the Greater Downtown Council’s guiding principles for the redesign of Superior Street:
- Commercially Successful
- Parking Retention for Retail
- Safe and Well Lit
- Walkable
- Attractive (green, flowers, aesthetics)
- Four Season (with acknowledgement of maintenance needs)
- Utilize Existing Green Spaces
In supporting these guiding principles, we also acknowledge that bicycles should be welcomed and accommodated in our downtown. However, we do not support the creation of dedicated bike lanes on Superior Street at the expense of losing existing on-street parking spaces or sidewalk width.

We hit five hundred signatures today even though the pushback has been relentless and exhausting. It is clear that plenty of us still recognize how vital this parking is for our businesses to survive.

Finally some common sense. Bikes are fine but not when it hurts the people actually spending money at these stores.
Business will die if people cant park. Nobody is going to walk five blocks in a blizzard to get to a store.
DOWNTOWN NEEDS PARKING PERIOD. dont kill the small businesses.
I try to shop local but it gets so frustrating when you have to circle for 20 mins just to park. Leave the spots alone.
Keep the parking spaces! We need shoppers to be able to pull up in front of the shops. Duluth winters are way too harsh for bike lanes on the main drag.

If they take away parking I wont be coming downtown anymore, simple as that.
