ridiculously high prices, l nowadays avoid going into town. residents pay enough out with council and road tax without further costs to live in a town. Tourists will/are put off by overcharging and zealous wardens

Not only are the charges extortionate but I'm appalled by the machines; the dirty scratched screens, tiny font that is barely legible, and they dont even take some legal currency!

Lower prices to help locals and bring shoppers in to town.

It is amazing that the council are so desperate and short sighted with the revenues from their parking cash cow, that they do not consider the wider picture of a town staying alive.

I am disgusted with the cost of parking in my town and the lack of investment to bring the machines up to date.

I for one am a business manager in the center of Lord street. fair parking prices and crucial to our operations. life moves too quickly these days to justify the park and ride and regular bus routes are a rip off! fair parking for all a free hr would be ideal.

The machines we currently have arent up to the job..faded printing of tickets, no change from machines and they cannot cope with new coins post 2012. The prices have gone up with no improvements. I would welcome the suggested changes.

Recently while working in other towns has been great you can just pull up, jump out get what u like n be back on your way. I though everywhere was like Southport, asking people were do I pay my parking and they were lookin at me strange n carrying on with no reply. But I was strange to them as they never heard of such a thing. No wonder there town shops are still open and ours are closed.why pay for parking when it's free to shop elsewhere, the council raises enough money with all there events why charge us parking aswell.

Parking is a joke! Won't take new coins which are legal tender but they keep putting the price up!

Yes I agree, the parking machine are a nightmare, I nearly got a ticket about 3 weeks ago, I was walking up and down trying to get different coins because the coins I had were new n the meter wouldn't take them, as I was trying to get them a traffic warden was at my car and was trying to give me a ticket! I was fumming as I'd been trying to get old coins, the traffic warden was really horrible towards me n said "you should have your change ready for when you get here! How rude! I had loads if change and th meter wouldn't take it! Also I have a lot of family who visit southport for the day and I'm embarrassed at th parking rates , day light robbery!

I love Southport but the parking charges always make me think twice about visiting. The town needs more people going to it!

More needs to be actioned for those of us who work long hours in southport, we can't use public transport as we work unsociable hours, so either start very early or finish at times of the morning whereby the only methods of transport home are taxis which cost a fair part of our meagre wages. There needs to be a better "long stay" parking option that's cheap enough to be used 3-5 times a week that's also within walking distance if the main parts of the town. At the moment if I drive to work it can cost upwards of £5 a day to park, when you're earning minimum wage that's a lot to part with out of very hard earned wages when you're working til 2/3am some nights.

This town is a joke for parking and the town is suffering because of this. Time for change lets just all park out of town then they will be the laughing stock as will loose so much so will have to do something
