As a Park Hill South Alum and high school athlete this is disgusting. Shame on South for not being inclusive of all college signings and students.

Doesn't matter where you play or what you decide to do with your life shouldn't matter to the school district..they should just be happy that kids these days are actually finishing out school and chasing their dreams. They should support them no matter what. And if it means playing for a better team then so be it..there will always be bigger and better things out there for people and school districts should support that not judge on what students want to achieve with their lives.

As an alumni, former college athlete, and current high school coach, I say let them sign! STUDENT always comes before athlete. PHS is lucky to have these great students. Congrats boys!

It's important to recognize achievements of student athletes, to celebrate the commitment, dedication and hard work it takes to secure a scholarship. These young people balance academics with athletics and other extracurricular commitments and should be held in high esteem to motivate us all. The school should be proud of these accomplishments and celebrate these leaders of the future.

Let's these boys have their day! This is just ridiculous bureaucratic nonsense! And just plain mean too. Doesn't cost the school a thing.

Lacrosse is another sport slighted at PHS. While other school in the KC metro allow these athletes to be recognized, our does not. If a college or university recognizes their talent our school shoukd should also.

All 3 boys are close to our family and it's sad to see a top notch school such as PHS, brush these accomplishments under the rug. Congratulations Ryan.

All students should be able to participate at their school. It's sad that the school would want to, and is allowed to, exclude these boys or any student.

I was unable to sign at my school's assembly last year because I played for the sporting academy team. It is absolutely ridiculous that a kid who is playing his sport at the highest level of any student at your school and you are not willing to recognize his accomplishments. This man comes to class everyday and represents your school in the classroom then drives 40 minutes to practice for 3 hours a day, then comes home and does 2-3 hours of homework a night. He has balanced school and soccer so well that he has been able to commit to a top university in the country. I guarantee that very few of your other athletes have the opportunity to play at such a high profile school for their sport. The fact that you don't want to associate yourself with arguably your school's biggest athlete success story for this year is beyond me. I hope you realize how it feels for a kid to come to the same school for four years and eight hours a day, to not be recognized for his work while other athletes are recognized.
