Laurie Frasz and HBCPK Board,

We believe it is a parent’s right to decide whether their children attend Haymarket Baptist Church Pre-school and Kindergarten with or without a mask. We do not agree that you should have the ability to override religious and medical exemptions that were agreed upon at the beginning of the school year.

Our children are protected by Title 2 of the Civil Rights Act | Section 504 of the ADA, a signed medical exception form backing them, and US code 42, Chapter 21B - Religious Freedom. We the people of Haymarket, Bristow, Warrenton, Gainesville, and surrounding areas of northern Virginia demand that the policy effective 11.29.21 demanding all children to wear masks regardless of exemption be terminated immediately and that the choice for children’s medical freedom be given back to the parents.

Thank you,

December 1, 2021

The silence from the board continues to be deafening while we wait for any recognition of our concerns. I am spending my evenings reviewing the legal frameworks again and preparing for our next steps because the exhaustion of this fight is outweighed by the need to secure our children's freedom.

Reaching this level of support has been an exhausting but necessary reminder that we are not fighting this battle alone. My patience is worn thin by the lack of response from the board but seeing so many of you continue to hold the line keeps me going.

You have an exemption form on hand for my son. 12 hour notice of the new policy is very disappointing and unacceptable.

Masks do not work to stop the spread of Covid-19. It is a fact and has been proven over and over again. Children have a .03% chance of dying from Covid-19. The harm from wearing a mask is far greater than any benefit. Mask and vaccine mandates are wrong and unconstitutional. Religious exemption IN A CHURCH PRESCHOOL should be respected!

Come on. Really this needs to stop. I’m a health care worker and this is creating so much anxiety and depression in these children. Really Do you know ER’S are Full of suicidal children. Please reconsider

It is not right to discriminate against a families beliefs or a medical condition. There are laws in place for this type of behavior. Stick to your policy upon enrollment.

Kids should not be forced to mask when thousands are allowed to attend sports games without them. You’re doing more harm than good.

It is time for the church to stand up. Stop bowing down to this world and be the truth. It is your job to set an example for our children. Our children do not belong to the world and neither do our churches. Jesus wouldn’t wear a mask and neither should you.

Masks are no effective at combatting aerosol viruses. The particles (micronmeter size) are too small for any mask type to be effective. This is why you see scientists in full suits and goggles. Masks pose a greater risk to physical and mental health than what is being discussed. Also, for data, compare states with lockdowns and mask mandates to states that don’t and they are the same infection rates.
