Parents of Cottonwood Students Demand Change

With the signing SB 98 we are essentially stuck with each other. No other independent study charter can financially support us. Please refrain from making drastic changes that would negatively impact 2000+ students and their families until SB 98 is lifted and we can be transferred to one of the four other north schools. Also I loved opportunities for socialization the field trip and community connection program provided for my kids. It would be heartbreaking not to be able to participate in them again.

We enrolled with Inspire and then were forced into Cottonwood without choice. To separate the school from Inspire reflects fraudulent and underhanded activity. WE WANT COTTONWOOD to deliver on what they promised- and Inspire school with Inspire standards!

This will be our second year with Inspire/Cottonwood. Please keep Cottonwood with its sister schools. I have been a homeschool parent for many years, coming from Horizon Charter. It is important to keep continuity.

Not a parent but an HST with Cottonwood students.

This is our third year with Inspire. We chose Inspire. We were placed with Feather River originally then moved to Cottonwood without being asked or told anything. We tried to go back to Feather River as our HST was moving to Feather River and were denied. My sons transcripts look really crazy with starting public high school year one then a different school each year due to Inspire moving us around at whim. We deserve to have a say and a choice of where we are enrolled and I am not willing to sacrifice my students funds to help run a site that is not operational or to take on new temporary students who plan on leaving as soon as schools reopen.

I want the school to still have the standards and goals that brought me to inspire in the first place. And to know the importance of stability in keeping a homeschool teacher, who has learned me and my children and our needs.

Get rid of this man! He is ruining this charter and we will be gone if he stays on the board! Collect the money this year but know yo school will be outed and spread far and wide if you keep this man!

We demand transparency and consultancy !

We joined Inspire 2 years ago, and we want to remain with Inspire sister schools and with our wonderful HST.

I have been homeschooling my son with the same hst and through inspire for 7 years. We need the ability to keep that standard and relationship!

We did not choose Cottonwood. We chose Inspire. Please do NOT break away from the sister charters. We do not need even more upheaval this school year. This move is seriously detrimental to the ones you should serving: the students!!

We joined Inspire and was assigned to cottonwood. What is transpiring here is not right. The cottonwood school should stay with its sister schools.

Two years ago I enrolled my two students in Inspire for many reasons. Reasons including amazing HSTs, resources, community and understanding of the homeschooling culture. Last year Inspire split into five different schools and we were put into Cottonwood without a choice. This year Cottonwood wants to break away from the other schools and because of the current legislation we, once again, don't have a choice. Homeschooling families homeschool because we want the freedom to choose. It is wrong to not give us a choice. It is wrong to do this in a time when families are going through so much. It is wrong to take advantage of legislation. It is wrong to take our resources, HSTs and our community away. Do the right thing.

We are asking that you stay partnered with the family of Inspire schools, for which programs and teachers we originally enrolled. Our homestudy family is relying on that consistency and support. The timing of all of this is extremely unfortunate considering recent legislation that leaves us without other options.

We joined Inspire Charter School. We want to stay with out HST that we have had for years. I have a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder and he is attached to his teacher. He will not be as successful if we have to switch to someone new. Please do not split from the other schools. Please keeps kids with their teachers. The world is chaotic enough currently. These kids need stability and they need the teachers they know and trust.

The programs and support offered to Cottonwood students through the collaboration with other North Schools is highly valuable and unique to any other charter school of this nature in Northern California. Breaking away from this Union is not in the best interest of students, staff, and families. Especially in a year where California Legislation has made it impossible for parents to make alternate plans.

Immediate resignation of Dr. Lorenz for misappropriation of funds. We want an executive director hired that has extensive knowledge of homeschooling. Keep the 5 north schools together! We do not want Cottonwood to separate from the other North Schools.

Please do what is best for our students and keep Cottonwood part of the Inspire family.

Cottonwood needs to stay a part of the other charter schools. This is not a time for change like this. We need the parents and students that are enrolled homeschool families to be taken care of as priority

Please don’t split the schools. We want to be with Inspire! We don’t want to loose our teacher!
