We are petitioning the Ministries of Education and Health to repeal the mandate of masks for students, faculty and staff based on numerous concerns, some of which include the following: health risks associated with wearing masks given that masks are not benign; the spirit of fear within the student body that it fosters; the fact that the parents right and duty to make a choice for their child's best interest has been removed; the increased anxiety level generated that negatively impacts a learning environment; the decrease in development of social skills due to loss of facial expression; and obstacles for the hearing impaired.

We are also petitioning the same Ministries to abolish the use of ‘bubbles’ or ‘pods’ while students are in school. Students nor staff members live in these same ‘bubbles’ outside of school, the use of them is abhorrent.

Additionally, we are petitioning the Ministries mentioned-above to restore education to reflect the manner in which students were taught, teachers and all school staff undertook their duties before the pandemic.

Updates

November 3, 2020

The Ministry of Education remains silent regarding our formal requests for policy reform. I am currently drafting a follow-up correspondence to ensure they fully understand the depth of our concerns. Your continued engagement helps maintain the pressure necessary to prompt a formal response.

November 3, 2020

The momentum behind this initiative remains a testament to the shared conviction of those concerned about the current learning environment. Your commitment indicates that the time has come for a formal review of these policies regarding our schools.

Whatever is going on here, leave children and their education out of it. Regarding education, there is enough work to be done. I get that a quiet child makes for an easy governable adult, but how shameless will we allow ourselves to be?

I support the right to freedom of choice as relates to what one puts on or in their body. The low fatality rate and the high survival rate of covid19 reveal that the pandemic is over. Therefore strict orders are impinging on human rights. Also important is how masks are a barrier to clean fresh air flow thus decreasing optimum oxygen intake especially during respiratory illness season. Another thing is the build up of bacteria and not allowing release of sick germs - this is found to cause life threatening bacterial pneumonia.

It’s not healthy to breath out carbon dioxide then suck it right back in by wearing these mask

Its unhealthy and plain not right. Focus should be more on maintaining good health by exercise, breathing fresh air , eating nutricious foods, lots of rest , sunshine and drinking lots of water. Last but not least Faith in God.

Wearing masks in non-sterile environments is a breading ground for bacteria and diseases. Schools across the United States are seeing an increase in skin diseases like impetigo and streptococcus infections in students after extended mask use. Wearing masks for extended periods of time affects the wearer psychologically as it has historically has been used as a sign of subjugation. It inspires us to fear our neighbors and stunts social development as we cannot see the expression of the other. Facial expressions are an important part of body language that when missing, make it difficult to pick up on social cues.

Enough is enough: wearing masks all day is very unhealthy. Stop it. There isn't any real proof that all this masking is justified.

Children have been known to pass cornavirus amongst each other all the time. Plus 99% recover with no major medical intervention.
