I have coached girls softball with Bryan the past two seasons. I have never witnessed any inappropriate behavior. He is a great coach and it would be a shame to lose him from the league. It also concerns me that the league has no procedure for dealing effectively with complaints. For starters, how about having a conversation with the coach about the situation to understand more before you simply ban someone for life from the league? I do not want to coach in this league next season given how the board has treated Bryan. Please at least consider giving Bryan due process.

I sent a message to Ryan a few weeks ago requesting more information, but received no response. I fully support Bryan and this petition. He is one of the best coaches my son has ever had.

We love Bryan and know how much he loves baseball. We have been lucky to have a passionate, kind and caring coach and it would be a shame to the community to loose him in the league. Please reverse the decision.

Bylaws should be Public information and dated/approved in meeting minutes. A through process/investigation should have been done. This is ridiculous!

For a league to not support their VOLUNTEER coaches is unacceptable. How could a formal investigation not have taken place? To lose Bryan Ross as a coach would be devastating to the league and our youth.

Bryan has coached my daughter for 3 seasons of softball, plus we shared many joint practice sessions with the boys baseball teams during winter workouts. I’ve never seen him do anything I wasn’t comfortable with as a parent, and if he (or anyone) ever did, I’d want to have a fully transparent process, including ensuring that an Ump or ref in real time vouched for any claims. If an action is egregious enough for immediate and permanent suspension, it absolutely should be remembered by every adult and child who was there. Nothing about this process has provided me the confidence that this level of follow up took place. A temporary suspension and full and complete investigation would be appropriate for a complaint short of what was noted above.

Bryan is a great coach and mentor to the youth in our neighborhood, Duniway and Cleveland youth athletics. It would be a shame to lose him in any capacity when it comes youth sports and the lessons he’s taught along the way.

Bryan has spent time coaching both my sons. I appreciate the time he has spent volunteering for Cleveland baseball. I do question the integrity of the allegations against him. I was at the game in question and it feels odd that I personally did not witness the altercation.

Looking forward to hearing back from the board after the radio silence to previous requests for information. This has not been well handled.

I couldn’t agree any more with this entire petition. Brian has been nothing but a dedicated coach, with a true passion not only for the game, but for teaching the future generations on how to play. Both my son and daughter have had both has the privilege of learning from Brian and I am extremely disappointed and wondering where he may be able to coach this spring so my kids can play in that league on his team.

This needs further investigation, does not sound like due process

I’ve been one of Bryan's assistant coaches for the last two seasons and he’s been nothing short of outstanding in his coaching and his care toward the players. I don't feel there has been a proper due process of investigation here. I've been coaching for 7 years, but this season will be my last if I don't see a fair resolution for Bryan and convincing documentation, i.e. bylaws, that future investigations will be fair and thorough.

This board is the reason inner Portland youth sports have become non-competitive to the surrounding areas, and the leagues future success is entirely reliant on parents like Bryan Ross.
