I am a Tower Hamlets resident. As a local GP since 1983, who also has family members with severe learning difficulties, I am very aware of the serious impact this can potentially have on mental and physical health of family members as well as on the person with learning difficulties and how important support and advice can be

My mum is paralysed from the left side down, no movement from the left side of her arm and leg.
Without the care she gets everyday from the carer service which is planned to dissappear, she will not be able to get ready every morning so she can live her day fully satisfied as getting ready i.e showering, brushing hair & dressing up is one of the most important parts of the day.
Shes been having this carer service since 2005, and cannot be happier with the care she gets from the carer. It would be a disaster for my mum if this has to stop, including myself and my entire family.

I run an advice session for parents of disabled children at John Smith Children's Centre in London E1 which is always busy. I admire the unpaid work they do under extreme pressure. The help Parent Advisers provide to them is equally commendable.
