I agree, this school is ridiculous with most their rules, so glad my kid is done and will not send my last one there!

Children are supposed to be themselves and express their personality and themselves how can they do that when u tell them how to dress and how to look because that is your persona not the children your having wear what you want them to.

I think it's unfair that is low-cost family have to buy uniforms and clothes for our children so how are we making out . We not it's costing us more money I think this is unfair test low-cost families

Kids like having fancy shirts and the simple thing as new clothes and you take it away with uniforms

Funny how we have a dress code to teach us how it is in the "real world" when our teachers don't even have a dresscode... Should be more focused on teaching us how to pay bills, handle money, etc.

It's rediculous that I had to take piercings that I've had for 3 years, in which have NEVER distracted me, nor anyone else, just because the school says it's not right.

Are you there to educate or are you showing students what the SS did in Germany. Teach already and stop the nonsense. These families pay your salary.

This is going way to far. Hair color should not matter. Back it the early 70's I went to Lourdes and was allowed to have frosted hair. This is public school and the restrictions are unrealistic.

I deel my children should be able to exspress themselves in clothing they feel comfortable in. my son is uncomfortable wearing this dress code due to his height and build. The pants droop in the crotch area and legs area are to big. And I'm sure there are ways around it but I pay 40 bucks per outfit for him ( which is exspensive compared to his clothes he prefers ) and I don't have 50 bucks per pair of pants to have them properly hemmed to school standards. This dress code is to prevent bullying, but yet it's still continuing. It's gonna happen regardless of the dress code. Kids get picked on because of their hair color or their freckles on their face or the shoes they wear or even because one is a little slower than the other. My child should be able to wear hello kitty to school or a pair of sweat pants and a sweater on cold days. The school is making it impossible for family's ( small and large numbered ) to be able to afford school alone. now to be honest, I think it's ok to eliminate some of the wore drobs. Like short skirts and low cut shirts and hell of a child is being picked on because they can't afford name brand clothing like Nike and Jordan's or any others than fine, eliminate those brands. But it's not fair to take away their rights to sweat pants and hoodies and they have to be certain lengths and certain shirts and certain pants etc. my child has become depressed being in this school because he isn't comfortable and don't want to attend school.

This is why civics is no longer taught, they need to conform.

The schools are getting way out of control telling parents how to dress their kids it's a shame some ppl don't have the money for certain stuff the school wants them to have its just wrong

Agreed! I miss hoodies and sweats on a cool fall school day. That's all I miss. I don't care for the piercings and what not cause I'll never get them. And I don't care for the hair color thing. I think its reasonable. You can have blonde or brown hair color. Not everybody wants to dye their hair green and crazy colors (no shade) I like the dress code. I wear polos with more than 4 buttons and I don't get coded. I also been wearing jackets with no hoodie and different colors for the past week or so. Some people can't afford these "changes". Me being one of them. Yeah I got a job but I don't wanna waste it on school uniforms when I got over 1000 jeans and tops in my drawers! But Shamokin does need to get cleaned up. Too many druggies and prostitute looking children. No the dress code won't change who they are but when they're in school to get an education,at least they'll look professional.

Children are individuals not molds of what you think they should look like.
