7:45 A.m. is already very early to start Elementary School! Moving the start time to 730 will make it nearly impossible to get my kindergartener out of bed and to school on time! Also, 2:00 PM is too early for the kids to get home from school! Let them start later and end later. It will be better all around.

Some children do not do their best work early in the morning, they take a bit a time to reach their stride. Changing the day the begin at an earlier hour would make learning more difficult for these children.

Our kids have a 7 o’clock bedtime and I still have to wake them in the morning. I wake them at 7 am and have them in the car by 730. Our mornings are rushed but my kids need sleep!! I only have 1 in kindergarten, but I have to wake all my kids (4,2,19M and 10M) to take her to school. That’s 5 kids I have to have ready to go and loaded in the car by 7:30 to make it there on time. My daughter is late majority of the time. We try our best, but I can’t imagine how late she will be with it starting earlier.

The earlier start time would be very difficult for my son. He has an 8:00 bedtime and when I wake him in the morning he is often tired. To start even earlier is definitely going to be a challenge.

My children are already struggling to get up in the morning & their bedtime is 8, they do not ride the bus & I voiced my concerns already online with the district, to no avail...there has got to be a better sinario. I see 4 buses sitting idol before pickup, Hale does not have a large area of children needing bused. Can we cut down to 2-3 buses & move the start time to 8:15 even 8:30, these poor kids are expected to perform & required to do so much each day, it can be rough on them with even less sleep... please reconsider the start time...

We already struggle with the current start time and to think I need to wake my kids up earlier is crazy, especially when so many school and extracurricular events that go into the evening. It's like a whirlwind - quick rush off to sleep, hurry get up in the morning. It's terrible how my elementary kids are struggling. I have so many friends in other parts of the valley who have an 8:00 or 8:30 start and they get out of school around 3:00 or 3:30 and it's such a better balanced schedule. My kids don't need to be home around 1:00 or 2:00 in the afternoon when there is still so much of the day left. It's ridiculous. I hope the school district hears our pleas.

It was already a ridiculously early start time and to go even earlier is tough for these little kids. Please consider a later start time or even alternating start times between different elementary schools to stagger the bus routes. In one district I worked for, we had alternating years of regular start time and late start time to solve this same bus driver dilemma.

This change to an earlier start time would create a real hardship for students that are of an age that already makes the current start time challenging. I was unaware the change was even taking place until I received this petition. Thus, I feel there was very little consulting that took place with parents to assess the need of this kind of change.
