Disrupting our neighborhoods for a quick solution that will save maybe a couple of driving minutes is insanely selfish and irresponsible! Put your efforts and money by working on US1 transit system, not destroying our community!!

Friends.
Let's face it. We are struggling in many ways during these times to protect ourselves from the pandemic and its consequences. Now many of us are being forced to confront this attack on our economic welfare and safety, as well. For what? More of what we already have: congestion and gridlock from those with no stake in our community. This is just a fact.
All of Palmetto Bay must stand up for its neighbors. What it means to be a Village of people is to stand together. I challenge our leaders to not usher corruption and harm into our community.
In the end, the words "debate" and "opposition" do not do justice in explaining where we are in this situation, which is really a debacle born of nonsense and corruption. Those stand to be harmed from this idea do not just oppose it and we are not simply involved in a debate. We recognize that a debate requires a situation where both sides have something to gain, AND BOTH SIDES HAVE SOMETHING TO LOSE. Here, only one side stands to lose---what is debatable here is whether the other side is being realistic when they say they will draw a benefit at all. Again, there is nothing to debate for us: for us it is purely a losing proposition that our leaders should not be thrusting upon us at all. Rather, they should be acting for us against it--immediately.
One does not need to refer to traffic studies to know that Palmetto Bay is already overburdened with pass-through traffic. So, with all respect to those who want to trample on us some more, the answer is no. And if you do not like the answer, try giving up your your kid's path home from school, your financial security in your home, and your peace of mind (or a little of it) in exchange before you set your eyes on ours. Then maybe we can debate.

In addition to the obvious increases of traffic, not only through Palmetto Bay but also through the homes off of 87th Ave. thanks to Waze, The County TPO should consider whether they wants to spend $3,000,000+ for a road to go only maybe 15 to 20 blocks. Traffic still has to go to either old Cutler 82nd Ave. or US 1 to get anywhere. If they must consider a bridge through a residential area, why not 77th Ave. which would take people all the way to 104th St.? Neither plan makes any financial sense!

A bridge will not fix the traffic. It will make it worse through our quiet streets. We need a long term solution not a quick fix.

This bridge make no sense. Stop wasting money on useless band aids that will do more harm than good and not solve the traffic issue.
