The Pallid Bat is the perfect bat to represent California. Found the length of the state, golden, and endowed with superpowers of hearing and flight, plus the ability to eat poisonous creatures—perfect!

Bats are unnecessarily seen as creepy or scary. With amazing adaptations, they are an extremely valuable group of animals that we need to keep around. Having a state bat should raise awareness, education, and perhaps affection for these fascinating and valuable little animals.
