Please designate the pallid bat as the official State Bat of California. Pallids are amazing bats, and this designation would promote bat conservation efforts in the state.

Bats are so important and are virtually unprotected in CA. Having a state bat could be great for bringing attention to their importance and lack of protections. Thank you!

As a wildlife biologist in California, I fully support increased awareness and advocacy for this group! This designation is a good stepping stone for increased conservation for bats in California,

Bats are an under-appreciated economic and ecological resource throughout California. Any effort that promotes education and awareness of bats is a wise move for all Californians. I am particularly excited about the pallid bat being the face of this awareness: a wonderfully charismatic species with a uniquely Californian persona.

Bats are beneficial, but are misunderstood, and their populations are at risk. The public deserves to learn more about what makes bats so special, and pallid bats are a wonderful bat ambassador!
