The community feels that we need a painted crosswalk and school crossing sign at the intersection of 20th & Idaho for our safety.Many drivers are unaware that they are required by law to stop for pedestrians since this intersection lacks proper signage and lacks a proper painted crosswalk.Painting a crosswalk would help keep our neighborhood safe by preparing cars that they need to stop if they see a pedestrian crossing. This intersection is on route to walk kids to school to Franklin. Our community believes that a painted crosswalk would keep pedestrians safe and encourage more people to walk to school using this route. A painted crosswalk would not negatively impact the flow of traffic in the area and would not cost a lot to implement.A painted crosswalk and school crossing sign would serve to alert drivers to prepare (slow down) to stop for pedestrians.
