Paint Pickleball Lines on Four Underutilized Tennis Courts

Demand is great for outdoor pickleball options in Dallas proper. Lining existing tennis courts for pickleball play is a very effective approach used by many communities to meet this need.

Should be no problem as tennis courts are usually under utilized and painting the lines is very reasonable cost to provide needed services (pickleball) to citizens. Tennis players then would also have the option to play tennis and/or pickleball so a win win for utilization. Tennis and pickleball can live/play together and thrive.

Please help us utilize the underused tennis courts for Pickleball play too—-much better use of the facilities to be able to offer both. So many more Pickleball players are looking for places to play! Thank you.

I live in Denton, kids & grandkids live in Lake Highlands. When they come see me I play pickleball with them. There is no place to play when I visit them. Please help?

I used to work for the USTA and was a strong advocate for growing the game of tennis and adding line to courts for kids. The Dallas Parks and Rec Department has an opportunity to update facilities that will make them useable for all age groups (especially those who vote and pay taxes). A simple investment with a huge return for an underserved population of people whose numbers are growing. What is better to see, empty tennis courts or active Pickleball courts? The change is happening.

As a local USAPA Ambassador I can attest to the growth & popularity of the sport of pickleball. Many from all ages ranging from grade school students now being taught pickleball as part of their physical education program to aging seniors looking to regain or remain active well into their 70's and beyond can begin and compete well in the sport of pickleball. It's easy to learn, the whole family regardless of age differences can play together, & the social nature of pickleball brings communities together & creates lasting bonds.

Dallas needs more pickleball courts!

Please expand pickleball courts in Dallas. More and more people of all ages are taking up the sport. More courts mean more families can do more things together. Let’s give our neighborhoods the opportunity to find another way to get healthy.
