Petition for Paid Holidays




Dear Nikki,




We, the undersigned employees of Spectrum Aba, respectfully submit this petition requesting the implementation of paid company holidays for all staff.




Currently, when the company is closed for holidays, employees are required to use their PTO to supplement their paychecks in order to receive full weekly wages. This practice results in employees losing earned personal time for days in which we are not permitted to work. It also places our company at a disadvantage for competitiveness and staff retention.




In past discussions, the reasoning provided for this policy was that our company offered the highest pay in the area, offsetting the lack of paid holiday benefits. As of now, this is no longer the case; several competing companies in our region offer both competitive pay and paid holidays as part of their standard employment package.




Offering paid holidays would:

• Align our benefits with current industry standards

• Increase long-term staff satisfaction and retention

• Reduce burnout by allowing employees to use PTO for true personal needs

• Demonstrate that the company values employee wellbeing and work–life balance




We are proud to work for this company and want to continue contributing to its growth. Implementing paid holidays would be a meaningful step toward supporting staff and remaining competitive in the field.




We respectfully ask that leadership review this request and consider updating our policy to include paid company holidays for all employees.
