We so desperately need a palliative care in-patient centre, in order to adequately meet the needs of dying children, and their families. The fact that this building is close to Red Cross Hospital, is vitally important.

Such a hugely necessary service for the families of Cape Town. A great opportunity for a perfectly suited property. Couldn't think of a better tenant. C'mon CoCT - do the right thing here!!!

I am signing this petition to perpetuate the memory of Rohan Bloom whom I was privileged to know before he passed after a brave fight at the tender age of 14......I witnessed first hand the difficulties his family had to go through whilst he was receiving " palliative care" which was really non existent!! No where to be with him, for the family to be private and for him to be cared for by the appropriate staff with his dignity in tact!!! I pray that this comes to fruition!!!!

When our friends son was so ill and up until his dying day everyone experienced a loss no one could describe. A hospice of what u have in mind will be such a wonderful idea for family and friends to be able to give their loved little ones a place where they can be cared for and loved until we get to say goodbye. At the hospital it was difficult as other patients and their families didn't understand what was going on and I was asked once or twice by parents from other patients what on earth was happening to the child in that room. It def is not a private affair to have your child spend his end days in a hospital. A hospice would have been so much more comfortable and understanding and private .....hope that makes sense xxx

I've witnessed the importance of managing children in a specialised, caring manner when it comes to cancer by Dr Meiring and her colleagues. Cape Town needs this special space near Red Cross children's hospital to work in synergy with them.
