Coming from the UK and knowing Cape
Town to be a world leader in certain fields of Medicine, I was surprised and shocked to learn that it has no paediatric palliative care beds. In addition to improving the quality of life and providing support for the patient, family and carers, these beds would, I believe, provide a supportive and educational role for nurses, doctors and trainees of all specialties. This could have far reaching consequences in improving quality of care and the patient journey in the wider community.

I wish Dr Meiring success in his application. As a resident in Mowbray it would be a pleasure to see the property being utilized. I am sure as residents we too can commit to supporting this hospice.

I meant that I'm volunteering at the Pink Drive cancer organisation and not Oink Drive..... its the computer gremlins that jumble up my words at times....lol!!!

There is a ginormous need for an establishment of this need because of the huge back log of palliative care for kids!!! I'm from the Cape Metro Health Forum and also working at UCT School of public health plus volunteering at Oink Drive cancer organisation and will spread the news further to have as much petitions as possible!!! Mec French Mbombo must really jump on the band wagon now and speed up the process!!!! #LetsStand United#
