Yes. Even a simple ride sharing program will be a huge help to all Pacific students without a car!

It seems reasonable that students without cars, especially those who are from out-of-state, should be allowed the opportunity to explore Portland.

My highschool did this for its students on the weekends and it helped a lot when you need project materials.

An excellent suggestion that will provide the means to connect both campuses.

This is a great idea. Pacific needs to find better ways to connect with the greater Portland area, and this is one of them.

We used to have a shuttle at Pacific, and it was fantastic. I got to know a lot of staff and faculty at Pacific on the shuttle, and met a lot of people who would have chosen to drive if the shuttle did not exist. However, that shuttle service was not advertised *at all*. I think we should bring the shuttle back, and advertise it well. Using the shuttle would be more sustainable than driving (and sustainability is part of the university mission), it would create community, and it would decrease the need for parking on campus. I strongly support this project.

As a Pacific junior who has frequented the TriMet bus and Portland MAX system, this would be a welcome addition to the services and benefits offered by Pacific University.

Hey Elizabeth!
This is a great idea! If we're able to prove to TriMet that we have enough "ridership", we could potentially make a deal with them.
Thank you!

Most universities cover free or reduced bus passes. It would be awesome if student senate and the administration could pay the costs to make student ID's all function as passes for the metro system.

Hi Erica,
We're planning to work out this detail later. Once we get a department to back us up on this project we will definitely ask for all your opinions on what times and days of the week would be best.
Thank you!

Would this be only limited to weekends, or on commute days as well?

This would help get people that are above 21 out of town to enjoy alcohol rather than staying in town where other underage students may be able to join them in off campus parties. This would definitely help with the safety of the students as well by providing designated transportation.
