I signed this petition because I have a dilemma every wednesday. Having to choose between lectures and playing sports is impossible and unfair.

I agree some free time in timetable would be useful, especially on a degree course that expects a n 80% contact rate. Where is the time as a mature student to do thing for me and not the university or my family. I would be willing to compromise and have a shorter summer break in order to accomodate the hours necessary to acheive the expected contact time.

it is just ridiculous that some can't join in on extra-curricular activities because of their timetable.

many other universities do this, for example Southampton. It would allow us to commit to taking part in Societies, because they could all take place on one afternoon...

Art foundation on wednesday afternoons stops me from playing badminton matches, I have no flexibility on this so if this changes things it would be a great help!

This would be a good idea to keep Wednesday free so we can catch up on other matters and activites.

As a member of Brookes Alumni I regretted not having the time to participant fully in University sport. Especially as this is a histotric right.
