Greetings Residents and Business Owners of the Overtown Community and Miami-Dade County area at large,
This Petition is needed to keep Overtown Business Resource Center here in Overtown. Over the last 3 years of being existing in Overtown , located at 1490 NW 3rd Av, Ste 110, Miami, FL 33136, The staff has assisted over 3000 residents and business owners with services such as Business Technical Assistance that includes, register businesses, help with business license, prepare business proposals, review business plans, provide assistance with marketing materials , business cards and flyers.
The center also provide free monthly economic development workshops. The staff also assist with resume assistance, job Search, employment, Referrals to other organizations to assist with loans, grants, professional attire, community assistance and more. The center has been an addition to the redevelopment of Overtown,
In order for our center to grow and expand right here in Overtown, your signatures are needed. We need more space to provide more services, like a private office space to incubate more businesses, they will be provided an opportunity to have a space to conduct business and hire staff. The center also needs a private conference area for business owners and residents to have a private space to meet with others, a place for residents to come in a fax and copy their own private documents. Unfortunately, due to lack of space, the tenants and residents are forced to go outside to speak on the phone because there is no quite or private space to conduct your personal or private business.
The Overtown Business Resource Center, presently is in an open space and we want to grow, Our goal is to be equipped properly to provide quality services.to maximize the opportunities within the Overtown Plaza.
The staff at the center includes, Leticia Bolden, Center Manager, Yolander Worsley, Business Developer and Shameeka Cheeks, Career Adviser. We appreciate all of your services and we are very proud of all of the success and participation all of you have brought to the center.
We want to move in the old CRA location at the end of the plaza in Suite 6 . That space is equipped with private offices and it’s large enough for Overtown Business Resource Center to expand our services.
Please sign this petition below, in return we will be able to keep the center fully operating and keep our service free to you and your family, residents and business owners of Overtown.
Thanks for your time and gratitude.

We need more outreach businesses like OBRC in our communities. OBRC has HELPED Divine Painting II LLC with business space to give our company a location to conduct business. EVERYTHING that they assist businesses with is ABSOLUTLY FREE!!! WE NEED OBRC IN THE OVERTOWN COMMUNITY!!!
My Business is Register at OBRC (Overtown Business Resouce Center) ABRS LLC As a Minority business owner all the help I receive was very impotant for my business . I was helped with business license, prepare business proposals, review business plans, assistance with marketing materials , business cards and flyers. Its necessary more espace to help more Business . Thank you !
This center is integral to Overtown’s economic growth. Having ample space to expand will allow for more effective and lucrative results for our community.
our company is seeking space it is very much needed
The resource center serves as an invaluable aid to the community. It fills a vacuum and cannot be replaced. Please continue funding and operations. Removing this center from Overtown would be a mistake.
I think its a great idea...it creates private quarters for the business tenants at the hub and reflects a certain professionalism and privacy for when said tenants have visitors . Hopefully this move will be highly considered.
More consideration to actual business empowerment and growth, along with adequate space.

The Commissioner and the CRA needs to take into consideration the economic impact the Business Resource Center offer. Funding is given by the SEOPW CRA for events that's supposed to build economic empowerment for businesses in Overtown and somehow those entities do very little if anything at all to assist businesses in actually growing, but the y still get funded year after year. This is an unbalance. It needs to be addressed. Seemingly the OBRC that does actually help businesses get slighted when it comes to being funded and adequately and when it comes to providing a better facility with more space to operate in. We look at Midtown, Wynwood etc...they have vibrant functioning Hub Spaces.
