OVERDEVELOPMENT

AT WHITE CITY

LONDON W12

We are fighting several proposals, which are supported by Hammersmith and Fulham Council, for commercially aggressive, energy extravagant, high rise developments in a low rise residential area of West London, extending from the old BBC Worldwide site down to Westfield. The plans would mean;

Engulfment by dense urban development like Paddington Basin butA cluster of towers of investor flats, over 30 storeysImpossible strain on local roads and sewers &c andA precedent for high rise development in the surrounding area, along Westway from Wood Lane, through Portobello and Westbourne Green, to Paddington Basin.
Hammersmith and Fulham Council and the GLA are not listening to our concerns, despite 'The Big Society' and the ideals of Neighbourhood Planning. The GLA and the governemnt are using the term 'sustainable' to mean business growth, not environmentally sustainable, self replenishing developments of the future.

As usual the money men are making the decisions.
The GLA, the developers and the local planners need to listen to and act on the public's views. We do not want our established communities to be blighted by big business. Beneficial significant development is possible if it is medium rise and sensitively interlinked to existing social and environmental infrastructure.

We know that similar battles are being struggled with in other areas;

And there are many more on the way.

Please join us in our fight to have our say in our local environment. We will join you too if you need our support. Please sign below;
