Outlaw Backyard Breeding So Dogs and Cats dont Die Needlessly ! How often do you hear someone say that they want to breed their dog because it's a good dog, a cute dog, that she should have just one litter, or they want to make some money? There is never a good reason to breed a dog or cat unless it is by a licensed breeder to preserve a breed. Backyard breeders are a source of many problems. The animals are often not cared for correctly or tested for inherited problems or behavioral problems. Often times people interbreed, which is one reason the Staffordshire Terrier is a miss understood breed. They are not breed the way they should be. Four million cats and dogs—about one every eight seconds—are put down in U.S. shelters each year. Often these animals are the offspring of cherished family pets. Backyard breeders needs to be heavily fined and outlawed. There is needless death and money spent, because of this. As long as backyard breeding continues our shelters will have to kill.
