-Dial-up is too slow, ties up phone lines, and is antiquated

-Satellite is faster, but the ping is horrendous (avg. 1200 ms ping, meaning it takes a full second for a webpage to respond to you, rather than a fraction of a second) and the service cuts out due to weather

-Wireless Internet (which my household has) has data caps, high rates for average service, and other ridiculous hurdles. 

High-speed Internet providers either aren't in our area or they are in our area but they refuse to let more people sign up for their services as all their ports are already taken in the area. In other words, the people of the Harrietta area have to show these providers that the demand is here, and we would like them to provide high speed cable or DSL Internet to our area. Among the providers we would like to target are AT&T and Ace Communications, although others will be notified too. 

So please, if you would like to show the high speed Internet providers that the demand for their services exist, please sign this petition. My estimate is that 30 signatures from people in the Harrietta area that want high speed Internet will show these companies the potential customers, however I'm sure we can get more than 30.
