We, the undersigned residents of Southeast Colorado kindly request that the Director of Lamar Recreation Department include in the Master Plan to be submitted in February 2024 a proposal to build an outdoor inline hockey rink for both youth and adult recreation in Lamar. There are currently no hockey facilities of any type along US Highway 50 between Garden City and Pueblo. This would provide both Lamar and surrounding communities with yet another opportunity to engage in an additional sport that promotes physical fitness and community engagement.

My son has been asking to play for years but we have to drive way too far. This would be huge for the kids around here.
I live in and play hockey in Garden City KS. If a rink was built in Lamar, we would come to events held there to play hockey.
As a kid, we used to play street hockey all the time. Often times we would go to the skatepark just north of the swimming pool and there would be pick up games going on. Let’s get hockey back in Lamar!
The growing community and surrounding area NEEDS positive, and interactive options. Not only for children but for the adults as well! This rink could have endless possibilities and and a great potential to bring life to the small nothing town we have. I really hope Lamar opens up to new opportunities.
This would be awesome! We played inline hockey at the old skate park at one point had up to 25 people involved in playing.
Hockey is great multi task and focus based sport

Yes please! Lamar needs more stuff for teenagers to do instead of just hanging around. Super cool idea.
