Our Minister of Environment should explain how the Public will not be "disadvantaged" by Boal Car Park closing

The public should have a choice. Do they want to pay extortionate airport rates or reasonable rates?

I will endeavour to use a different airline/route, just refuse to pay the price at City airport. ( or get a lift)

I hope you are paying tax on any backhanders received in an effort to help you to make this decision.

How rediculous is this?? This could be a brilliant thriving airport serving the province. Not deserved when greed is the factor! We need parking at prices to suit the whole community. We need our local businesses, such as Boals, to thrive also!

I am a member of the public who chooses to use Boal. De facto it is in my interest, as a member of the public, for it to remain open. So who is this 'public'? I travel, as part of my job in a 'not for profit' sector. There is no public transport for 'red eye' flights - I have to drive/park my car. Boal is more economical. The premises are already a designated car park. There is no environmental impact. Most importantly, there is a door to door service with shelter while you wait, which means the fragile, disabled and plain tired do not have to walk lengthy distances with heavy luggage in inclement weather to/from the car park from/to the airport. If the cost was the same, I would choose Boal. Apart from financial self interest by Belfast City Airport in eliminating competition, what is the benefit, and to whom, in refusing planning permission?

This is a disgrace, the official car park is a total ripoff and without Boals no one will have any alternative

I and other RNLI volunteers throughout NI regularly use the Boal car park when attending RNLI volunteer training in Poole. The RNLI pay our expenses but I used Boal as it saves the RNLI money. Guess not any more. Would be cheaper to park in one of the many car parks at office buildings in the Harbour Estate and get a taxi to pick you up and leave you back (about £7.00 each way). Not sure how safe though.

Of course it disadvantages the public

I will not be using George bedt airport anymore as I can't afford the parking if Boal closes at IKEA. Typical short-sightedness of over-paid ministers who can afford it with their big pay increases or just charge it on their expenses! Disgusted traveller!

Typical of NI politicians, it's anti competitive & free trade should be allowed.

This shows what us wrong with NI there are too many who want to strangle enterprise and competition.

Belfast City Airport should not have the monopoly on car parking. Reverse this decision in the interests of the wider public.

Removing the choice can in no way help the public

We need freedom of choice and a monopoly on parking is unfair for consumers as well as competition
