This petition is for parents who would like Johnston County School Board members Todd Sutton, Terri Sessoms and Traci Zurkowski recalled and placed on the November 3, 2020 ballot. This recall is due to the lack of listening on their behalf of their constituents and children. On Thursday, August 27, 2020 these three board members recanted the will of the citizens and students in Johnston County by back tracking an already voted on matter of returning K-5 students back to the classroom on September 8, 2020. They need to hear the will of the citizens and be reminded on who they work for.

Todd, Terri, and Traci clearly thought they could ignore us and just walk away from their promises to our children. This surge of support proves that we are no longer willing to let these people treat our families like an afterthought.

I understand the precautions for the kids/staff but personally my child (10th grade) needs to be face to face learning to succeed properly (even if its only partially)
I appreciate all our elected officials have done in regards to public safety- but I differ with the school board on this. The kids educational and emotional needs should be met with in person classes. They canceled in person due to an "abundance of caution" which is misguided. In person is necessary.
If essential workers can go to work and have been at work since day one, teachers can go back to work. All of a sudden you don’t have enough personnel to send even pre-k thru 3rd back to school. I’m all for letting people work from home if it doesn’t effect the outcome of their job. Can you honesty tell me that teachers are having the same outcome from virtual learning as they did from in person? The only ones suffering are the students.
You were supposed to speak for parents, students and school employees. Instead, you decided your opinion was all that mattered :(.
We need to reopen schools now with face to face teaching. This is going to become a mental health issue even moreso for many parents, caregivers and the students. Enough is enough and open our schools and let everyone have a choice.
Tracy Zurkowski has let the children and the parents of JOCO down. She has put her self interests and made money through her position. She is a disgrace and I hope she is exposed and charged. I will work every day to insure that.

Everyone needs the option of face to face. 70% of elementary, middle and high school parents chose to have a face to face option. Parents can help with transportation issues if you ask!
