We need to prioritize New York City residents over corporate interests (which is what NYU is). It is time for NYU to act like a good neighbor, which means actually working with neighborhoods, which up to now they've shown no interest in doing.

So many NYers have no access to parks, or any source of nature, at all, within walking distance of their homes. Please do not forget that it is only the priviledged who can afford to attend NYC - one of the most expensive universities in the US - and that any who can afford to attend, they surely can afford to engage in activities in nature, while so many others cannot. To engage in nature can engender those less priviledged to discover nature - the nature of our parks, and perhaps lend to them some peace to discover their own nature within - otherwise not in their own environment; and perhaps that helps them to move forward through and out of the difficulties of their own lives of less priviledge, and they, thus, by means of relief find in nature a way to rise above difficulties, and, thus, assist and serve our city; through our own benelvolence we can give them a park to nuture them to a better life.
