Small Union Square Park is getting an unneeded restaurant even though Union Square itself has over 30 eating places!

Please preserve our parks and open spaces. Any new development must ensure that our existing parks, gardens and playgrounds are preserved and that new ones are built. I agree with our new Parks Commissioner Silver that city's parks provide a unique, public space for education, physical exercise and recreation.

I grew up 1/2 block from Riverside Park. Central Park is a gorgeous achievement. We need to expand our green areas not contract them.

For many decades, Greenwich Village has been the subject of desired expansion...remembering well the battle with Robert Moses. NYU has already greatly expanded their presence in this area and the Parks belong to all NYC residents and visitors and represent an integral part of the overall NYC community. As a native New Yorker I firmly object to losing any NYC parkland, especially in the overcrowded Greenwich Village area.

The preservation of what is CHARMING has reached emergency proportions. People have flocked to Greenwich Village, having known its unique charm through the works of artists, poets, writers. Let's assure future visitors/residents that the wonder of the Village they've anticipated still endures.
