Please support the protection of our children and schools in the community. Say "NO" to the liquor license and child endangerment.

A newly built gas station/convenience store at 420 Fairview Rd., Stockbridge, Georgia 30281, is attempting to acquire a liquor license within 400 feet (less than 134 yards) of Fairview Elementary School, 20 feet of an elementary/middle school bus stop, and less than 20 feet of private home residences in two neighboring subdivisions. These are direct violations of the Georgia liquor license requirements per Georgia Code Title 3. Alcoholic Beverages § 3-3-21, which states, No person knowingly and intentionally may sell or offer to sell: (A) Any distilled spirits in or within 100 yards of any church building or within 200 yards of any school building, educational building, school grounds, or college campus...

An increasing amount of trash has resulted from site construction alone. Let’s make your voice heard and inform those in Henry County, Georgia leadership positions (elected and non-elected), that you, as a taxpayer citizen oppose commercial actions that will promote and increase:

  • Child Endangerment
  • Public Health and Safety
  • Noise and Disturbances
  • Environmental Pollution
  • Animal Infestation

Please sign this petition stating that you are opposed to the gas station/convenience store acquiring any type of liquor license.

Thank you.

This is simply against the law and morally wrong, I support not having the store obtain a liquor license.

The gas station built on Fairview Rd is not wanted. It will decline the home values of homes located directly behind it. I’m not in favor of the owner/business obtaining a liquor license.

It is unfortunate that the people we elected in office care more about aligning their pockets as instead of to what is in the best interest of our children, community and safety of our residents.

I oppose the liquor license being granted at the newly constructed gas station on Fairview Road. Please consider the safety, beauty and integrity of this family-oriented community. Thank you.

This project turned out to be a gas station that we did not want in our community. Because we didn’t want an unwanted gas station in our community so close to our neighborhood, School, and Church surely without question we don’t want a liquor station in addition to the unwanted gas station. The liquor that is sold in any area will affect the people in that area and that is not what we want in our community as much as you don’t want it in yours who are wanting this unwanted license.

Please help keep our children safe. My kids will not even be able to catch the bus at the bus stop, for fear of their safety. Who builds a gas station in someone's home? Not only is it at the corner of a subdivision, but comes into the subdivision! This is so inconsiderate and disrespectful to the families that live in our community.

I do not think this store should have a liquor license. It is too close to an elementary schools . Thank you for all considerations regarding this decision.

We don't need convenience store so close to a school in the church in the neighborhood
